Job Description:
As a Developer, the successful candidate will be responsible for software development practices across multiple applications. The Developer should possess strong technical qualities to plan, design, document, and implement new enterprise scale applications in the ABAP and J2EE technology space. In addition, the candidate should be capable of managing development deliverables, and requirements scope for new or existing products and applications. The candidate will possess strong technical and programming skills including experience with designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise-class system software. These qualities should be used effectively to work with Sr. developers, architects, administrators, and analysts to resolve complex system issues as well as communicating the results to upper management. The communication skills should also be used to effectively manage the internal and external expectations from customers and also in communicating project progress to senior management.
Experience working across multiple technologies, development tools, operating systems, and application servers is a must. The candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining development plans, release management plans, and testing methodologies that ensure application development is within the prescribed best practices for all assigned software systems. These responsibilities must be met while ensuring compliance with system specifications. The candidate must maintain a high degree of process, and documentation on all software releases to support existing development efforts as well as the maintenance of deployed solutions.
Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive development plans
- Collaborate with Developers and Business Analysts as needed to resolve and identify the root cause of defects and/or usability concerns of solutions
- Collaborate with other project teams to improve process, tools, quality metrics, and methodology
- Escalate issues and Communicate the status of deliverables to key stake holders
- Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the development efforts
- Ensure technical documentation and systems are in agreement
- Ensure the execution of Unit and Module-level tests against detailed design specifications
- Provide coordination for the project team regarding scope, issue resolution, project priorities, and following the development methodology
- Collaborate with team members, where needed to help build new and improved skill sets
- Develop and document clear and concise custom program specifications through consultation with analyst to ensure the successful delivery of user specifications
- Provide impact assessment to offer workable and efficient technical solution to meet business needs
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Bachelors of Science Degree
- A minimum of 2 years cumulative experience creating enterprise-class software development and SAP experience in design, and development
- 2+ years of experience working with SAP ABAP programming which includes FICO and HR/Payroll
- ABAP/4 Workbench, Report and Transaction creation, Enhancements, Conversion Programs, User exits
- Legacy data migration using BDC, LSMW
- ALV Reports, Dialog Programming
- ABAP Queries, BAPIs
- Experience on WebDynpro ABAP/Java and SAP Portal is desirable.
- Experience initiating, planning, documenting, developing, rolling out projects on time and within the budget.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated team player to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment who thrives on challenging problems
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, capable of working both independently as well as part of a team.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in web technologies, such as Java, HTML, XML, JSP, and XSLT is a plus
- Prior experience in creating enterprise-class solutions for retail business
- Background in CMM and software development methodologies
- Development of enterprise-class applications using J2EE and web technologies is a plus
- Potential to guide, measure, manage, mentor and motivate a development team
- Experience working with SAP XI and Service Oriented Architecture
- Experience balancing business priorities with technical best practices and implementation Methodologies
- Experience working on SAP Portal, MSS, Workflow, PCR, ISR Framework, JDI and NetWeaver Developer studio
- Experience in web technologies, such as Java, HTML, XML, JSP, and Java Script
