Job Description:

The Regional Marketing Director is accountable for the regional marketing strategy and supports the achievement of Sector: business goals. Key responsibilities include leading the marketing strategy for the region, driving the Chartwells brand and standards, implementing retail innovations and marketing and promotional materials, publications and support collateral such as brochures, advertisements, custom presentations, proposals and other special projects for tradeshows and expos.
Responsibilities:
- Implement programs for the region to increase campus dining awareness for the Chartwells brand and drive in-unit participation.
- Drive Chartwells’ new brand identity guidelines and standards throughout the region.
- Coordinate local efforts with corporate merchandising and marketing initiatives.
- Plan and implement promotional efforts with vendors.
- Oversee the development and update of local catering guides, dining services brochures and other related publications.
- Develop strategic marketing plan for the region.
- Drive same store sales growth for the region.
- Develop a marketing strategy with local operations teams and RVP on dining offerings and marketing plans for sales and rebid presentations.
- Create and manage relationships with Operations, unit Marketing Managers and Communication leaders.
- Collaborate with support functions and corporate departmets to improve process, materials, procurement and methodology.Ensure that the Regional/Corporate goals are achieved within an established budget.
- Monitor and analyze market trends.
- Study competitors’ products and services.
- Explore ways of improving existing products and services to increase profitability.
- Identify target markets and develop strategies to communicate with them.
- Drive guest and client satisfaction.
- Professionally represent region at sales presentations, leadership meetings and campus events
- Display proper reasoning and judgment in analysis of issues, and demonstrate ability to independently select a course of action.
- Support image libraries and monitor use according to legal and company guidelines to maintain the integrity of the images and the management of digital assets for distribution within the region.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in marketing or hospitality management or equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the Marketing field.
- Ability to influence and drive integration of marketing strategy into operational program and planning.
- Ability to prepare and manage marketing budget.
- Experience and/or knowledge of the Hospitality & Foodservice industries are strongly desired.
- Knowledge of a wide range of marketing techniques and concepts, as well as public relations and merchandising.Experience with sales initiatives.
- Excellent communicator with strong technical aptitude who remains abreast of industry/technology trends (to include mobile marketing and social media) and has significant marketing and business acumen.
- Broad knowledge of social media methodologies and techniques as well as the ability to come up with alternative ideas to leverage technology.
- Visual Merchandising and Graphic Design background a plus. Marketing Project Management experience.
- Must be able to travel extensively (50%) in the specified region and work a flexible schedule to include weekends.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong design style and conceptual skill, including creative design solutions.
- Ability to effective manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Ability to work independently on strategic issues with client, capable of managing fairly complex projects
- Ability to work with a large variety of clients.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines is essential for a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to demonstrate composure and self-confidence in difficult situations
- Experience / consistent performance in deadline-oriented environment due to tight time restraints and volume of work in heavy proposal seasons.
