Job Description: Construction Project Manager- Mount Sinai Hospital - New York NY


This is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY to become a leader in a great company and growing corporation. In this position you will plan, organize, and control space planning, deferred maintenance, and renovations of spaces and construction management.

Responsibilities:




  • Plan, organize and control functions and activities of space planning, renovations, projects, building of new facilities and grounds.



  • Review, evaluate and recommend space utilitization programs.


  • Communication with hospital staff, community groups, agencies, contractors, architects and engineers to plan, organize, and coordinate programs and services.

  • Monitors flow and quality of work.

  • Prepare bid documents, specifications, cost estimates, budgets, schedules and savings in energy.

  • Prepare and maintain a variety of departmental records and reports.

  • Ensure compliance with JCAHO, State Health Department, NFPA, EPA, DEP, ADA and local building codes and all other authorities having jurisdiction.

  • Plan, coordinate and monitor construction and development of facilities.

  • Prepare, review, evaluate and recommend approval of plans for construction.

  • Advise on structural changes and additions and/or modifications to buildings and space utilization.

  • Interview independent contractors to receive and analyze bids, including blueprint analysis of proposed changes.

  • Submit bids, cost estimates, schedules, phasing plans, budgets, reports and recommendations.

  • Liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, regulatory agencies, hospital facilities staff, material and equipment suppliers.

  • Oversee day to day construction activities and maintain all appropriate logs.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience of progressive responsibility in successfully managing all aspects of healthcare consulting and construction projects – with special focus on healthcare mechanical/electrical infrastructure.

  • ? BSME/BSEE or BS in construction Management or equivalent experience.

  • ? ASHE certified in Construction.

  • ? Experience as at-risk contractor desirable.

  • ? Must possess very strong written, verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • ? Working knowledge of ILSM and ICRA related documentation.

  • ? Experience in negotiating, executing and managing contracts using industry-standard documents.

  • ? Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • ? Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

  • ? Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite of software applications.

  • ? Working knowledge of project management software such as Primavera.

  • ? Excellence at working both independently (self-motivated) and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • ? Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of a client’s organization (technical, financial and administrative).

  • Must possess a working knowledge of JCAHO, NFPA.

  • Construction based CADD experience required.
