Description:
In this position, you would be responsible for system administration of servers and providing guidance in the development, maintenance, and management of desktop PCs.
Job Duties:
- Provide system administration for servers. Maintain Active Directory environment, including account setup and group policies.
- Research, test, recommend, install and support new and existing technologies that enhance desktop PCs and server environment.
- Perform routine backups and archival of files stored on network to assist in recovery efforts; test restores.
- Monitor and secure PCs and servers from data loss and security threats.
- Diagnose, analyze and resolve network and server issues; manage performance tuning and maintain the operating system.
- Provide technical expertise at a functional level to all areas of the department and assist in training student workers.
- Maintain proficiency through professional development. Actively pursue a self-directed continuing education plan for improving competencies applicable to job goals.
- Utilize and develop IT resources that automate internal routine Facilities Services functions.
- Maintain department records and document processes.
- Provide resource estimates and progress reports as requested.
- Perform related and other departmental duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experiencerequired.
- Three years of experience with PC/Server hardware and software maintenance and support.
- Three years’ experience with system administration of Microsoft servers (2008R2 and above) and applications.
- Two years backup and recovery system administration.
- Two years’ experience with networking.
