Job Description:


Reporting to the SVP of Operations, the People Manager will be responsible for implementation of critical HR best practices while ensuring collaboration and communication around stated objectives of the Google Hospitality Management team. Focus on maintaining and enhancing the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices


The People Manager should be a hands-on proactive leader with demonstrated passion, drive & motivation to create value through direct and personal impact on the business. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal communication skills, ability to adapt to handle fast-changing situations. The position also requires strong networking, reasoning, and time-management skills. A Team player with strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to manage effectively. As such, the successful candidate must be an excellent strategic leader that can direct and coordinate value added HR programs.


Key Responsibilities: Employee Relations and Engagement, Recruitment, Training, Compliance



  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.

  • Maintain and process all required employment documentation, including: Personnel Files, I 9’s, W4 Tax Filing Status, Background Checks, Drug Screening, 8850 Forms, etc.\

  • Work directly with Management team on employee recognition, counseling, personal development plans, annual performance reviews, and stay interviews.

  • Produce updates pertaining to training and communication for Quarterly Client Meetings.

  • Manage all employee Vacation, Sick and Holiday Pay. Track all hours and manage process with Team Managers. Support counseling and coaching sessions.

  • Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.

  • Prepares employees for assignments by establishing, developing and conducting ongoing orientation and training programs.

  • Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.

  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and counsel employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee concerns; counseling employees and supervisors.

  • Informs employees of important benefits initiatives by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.

  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations and maintaining records

  • Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Maintains human resource staff job results by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Ability to act as an HR business partner supporting the Google and RA organization’s mission, vision and values.

  • Manage employee relations practices necessary to maintaining a positive employee-employer relationship and promote a high level of operational excellence

  • Administers employee recognition programs, climate surveys and action plans and employee engagement.

  • Plan and identify methods that will enhance the employee and customer relations in the region to support organizational growth.

  • Support new unit openings.


Skills/Qualifications: Hiring, Human Resources Management, Benefits Administration, Performance Management, Communication Processes, Compensation and Wage Structure, Supports Diversity, Classifying Employees, Employment Law, Laws Against Sexual Harassment, Organization



  • A minimum of 5 years of HR experience in a multi site role

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and showcase creative problem solving skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or Master’s Degree) in Business, Labor Relations, Human Resource Management or related discipline preferred

  • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite and blogging systems

  • PHR/SPHR Certification preferred

  • Travel Required: mostly NY, DC, Cambridge, MA

  • Bilingual required (English/Spanish)

  • Experience in the hospitality industry within corporate dining, conference centers or hotels is preferred
