Job Description:
Reporting to the Executive Chef, the successful candidate should possess savvy business skills, be a highly motivated professional, with proven ability to establish excellent working relationships with various team members. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Quality Assurance Manager to handle the day to day sanitation and safety operations of multi-unit cafes. Work with management and staff on establishing and implementing SOPs, training, DOH inspections, conducting self-inspections and audits. Responsible for the development of hourly sanitation & safety champions.
Ability to fully manage and own the standard operating procedures related to safety and sanitation within the unit
Extensive knowledge of HACCP guidelines to ensure efficient, safe and sanitary food production, and purchasing, receiving, food storage and facility maintenance.
Provide leadership and direction to entire team including training, coaching and counseling.
Additional related duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of BOH operations and safety procedures
Minimum of 3 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
Self-starter and ability to multitask
Strong supervisory, leadership, hands-on management and coaching skills
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Proficient computer skills to include; various computer programs, e-mail and the Internet
Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
ServSafe and NYC Department of Health certification required
Ability to lift, bend, carry up to 40 lbs., manage proper storage of food items as necessary
Ability to travel
