Job Summary
Wellness Coordinator in Little Rock, AR
The Wellness Cooddinator will coordinate, manage, support and measure nutrition and wellness initiatives and provides nutrition education, training, communication and guidance for various accounts and Compass Group associates and other Business and Industry operations as needed. Works collaboratively with dining services directors, district managers, regional vice presidents, chefs and marketing managers to promote and support corporate nutrition strategies, goals and objectives and policies, to develop and provide nutrition resources and to insure compliance with FDA nutrition labeling laws.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and manages Compass Group nutrition and wellness programs and initiatives (such as Balance, whole+sum, Eating Well, Super foods) in assigned B&I dining locations and acts as a regional resource
- Develops mastery of Compass materials and resources including Core 4, Catering Wellness (Meeting Well) and Canteen Vending, as well as, client nutrition, wellness and sustainability program materials, standards and goals
- Uses Business Excellence resources to customize nutrition education, wellness initiatives & sustainability promotional programs for operations, Compass B&I associates, clients and customers
- Develops & presents materials for health fairs, lunch and learns, program launches, regional & district meetings, client meetings, café wellness events, etc
- Leads in-field implementation and on-going wellness training to include Balance, whole+sum, Nutrition Fundamentals online nutrition course, Nutrition Labeling Training, Johnson & Wales University culinary seminars and other sector programs
- Establishes relationship and maintain partnership with client health and wellness program / initiatives designees; help facilitate joint wellness initiatives and calendars with client wellness team
- Co-promotes client nutrition and wellness initiatives, special events and promotions
- Supports and utilizes marketing and technology innovations to help drive wellness including Webtrition, loyalty programs, limited time offers and rewards initiatives
- Incorporates marketing and purchasing initiatives into promotions
- Monitors, tracks and interprets promotion results, customer purchasing behavior and sales data so program decisions are informed and qualified
- Conducts, monitors and enforces corrective action on wellness & sustainability standards, nutrition policies, labeling laws, as well as, Compass nutrition goals, objectives, policies and procedures via audits, site visitations and action planning
- Facilitate dietetic intern rotations in Compass B&I locations, if applicable
- Participates in Strategic Account retention and sales efforts
- Provides nutrition analysis utilizing Webtrition, our web-based application housing a centralized database for menu planning, production tools, nutritional analysis, and costing
- Participates in menu and recipe development
- Wellness Manager will also have a hands on approach to hospitality, foodservice and the retail side of the business
- Supports and assists unit managers as needed which might include preparing or serving food, customer service, assistance with catering and holding associates accountable to standards
- Resource person for client, customer and Compass associate nutrition & sustainability questions and concerns
- Ability to travel 25%.
Qualifications:
- Registered Dietitian in accordance with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- State licensure, or ability to obtain
- Wellness experience, desirable
- Serve-Safe certification required, but we can obtain once hired
- Advanced written and oral communication skills; ability to apply complex mathematical concepts
- Strong presentation skills; advanced computer skills, advanced management and leadership skills, advanced problem solving skills and outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Basic problem solving and project management tasks are key
- Familiarity with nutrition analysis software is preferred
- Culinary and/ or foodservice experience preferred
